So guys, here’s the point.
Pathetic. Frustrated. Lost.
That’s how you feel right now.
You don’t know what the right thing to do is. You know that what you’re doing right now isn’t the right thing. And it’s freaking scary to search for an unknown path instead of walking a well-known path that is safe but it doesn’t feel right.
You look at those people who have accomplished the impossible. Who have created things that have changed the world. Who their ideas and ambitions are shaping our future. People who are living their dreams and passions.
And then, here we are.
But, let’s take Usain Bolt as an example. The world’s fastest man alive. Since he was a kid, he always knew that he wanted to be a runner, a sprinter. When he was 14 years old he was already fast like a lightning bolt, while when I was 14 years old I was a complete failure in every sports and fitness activities.
Being an athlete is in his DNA.
Sadly, the majority of people have no freaking idea of what they want to do for the rest of their days. And, obviously, the sooner you discover it the better because things are much easier when you know the big picture.
So, here’s the big question.
How do you know what you want to do?
You have to main options to find the right direction in life.
1. Move to Tibet
You can spend seven/eight years in isolation in Tibet with monks. You will learn to meditate, practice tai chi and some really cool moves of Kung-fu. Maybe one day you will wake up and realise: “Holy Shit! I want to be a dog sitter”. Fantastic! Do it, if it’s that what you want to do. I’m your biggest fan.
This could be a very challenging path, but, if you desire so, give it a shot. Move to Tibet.
See you in 7 years.
2. Eat your shit sandwich and do what you really need to do.
You need to face your life because sometimes it sucks and High school doesn’t prepare you for that.
Now, you may be thinking, “Hey Mr Potenza, be more optimistic. Look for the rainbows and the unicorns”.
I don’t want to sound too pessimistic, but everything in life involves some sort of sacrifice.
So you must be ready to eat your shit sandwich because only you can force yourself and push yourself to find the thing that makes you wake up in the morning saying: “Hey, Let’s do it. I love it. Yooo”.
You must liberate yourself from all the rules, the thinking and the do and don’t that society, your family, your friends, religious leaders or politics tell you to do.
Throw away that user’s manual for life. It’s full of BS.
Throw it away like people from the Middle Ages throwing their droppings out their upper story window.
You need to make few twists and changes to your life, to your attitude, to your mindset, to how you deal with problems and challenges and failures, before truly realising what the right direction is.
In theory, the life manual wants you to do things in a certain way, stand for certain ideals and follow specific rules, but when it comes to real life…well most of these rules and guidelines don’t fit your life and lifestyle. So, you need to find your own way to find your path, you must write your own life manual and really eat your shit sandwich when it’s needed.
Most importantly, don’t let other people tell you what you should do and shouldn’t do. Don’t let your circumstances define your path. You must think big and develop a growth mindset, even if you feel small and insignificant, because what determines your ability to discover your true path in life, is your ability to handle the hard times and really figure out your own plan, your own way to move in a different direction.
It’s up to you.
Are you willing to stay up all night working on your ideas, projects? Are you willing to handle unpleasant experiences? Are you willing to eat your shit sandwich?

And let’s do it, together.
